The House of Polyphony is a small cultural museum dedicated to Albanian Iso-Polyphony, a UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage.
Visitors are introduced to the history and meaning of iso-polyphonic singing through curated wall displays and a 10-minute documentary screened on site. The experience also includes a section dedicated to traditional musical instruments and a listening corner where guests can enjoy authentic iso-polyphonic music from the archive.
A highlight of the visit is the Sound Tunnel, a 35-meter-long Cold War tunnel transformed into a unique musical installation. The composition was created by Robert Bisha, an internationally renowned Albanian pianist. Walking through the tunnel while immersed in sound creates a powerful and unforgettable sensory experience.
This visit offers a compact yet deep introduction to one of Albania’s most distinctive cultural traditions.
