The folklore group Lunxheria has a rich and long history that begins in 1965 when its director and artistic leader started engaging with music and culture alongside his work as a teacher. In 1970, he became a part of the Lunxheria Ensemble and later took on the role of its leader. Throughout his decades of activity, the ensemble has achieved great success in national folklore festivals.
The Lunxheria Ensemble has won the title of Laureate three times at the National Folklore Festival, demonstrating their talent and dedication to Albanian folklore. In 2009, they received the award for the best costume at the national level, recognizing their efforts to preserve and present traditions through traditional attire. In 2015, the group was honored with the Naim Frashëri award and won the prize for Best Sung Dance, showcasing their extraordinary skills in both dance and song.
With a group of 13-14 members,Lunxheria continues to be a major force in the Albanian folklore scene. They sing traditional songs of Albanian folklore, preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Lunxhëria region and beyond.
