The Lab Group of Tepelena, founded in 2000, is a musical ensemble that has preserved and promoted the rich heritage of traditional music from Tepelena and Labëria. With a dedication to the unique melodies and folklore of these regions, the group consists of 8 members and has become a significant force in the Albanian folk music scene.
Over the past two decades, they have participated in numerous cultural activities, not only in Albania but also internationally, representing Albanian music in Italy, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Greece, and other countries. The group has been recognized with various awards, including first place at the Pilur Festival this year, one of the most important events for Labë folk music.
Their repertoire includes some of the most well-known songs from Labë tradition, such as \"Erdhe prapë në Tepelenë\" (You Came Again to Tepelena), a song that evokes feelings of nostalgia and pride for one\'s homeland; \"Kënga për Ali Pashain\" (The Song for Ali Pasha), which is dedicated to the historical figure of this distinguished leader; \"Kënga për Selam Musain\" (The Song for Selam Musai), honoring another important figure from Labëria; as well as \"Kënga e bilbilëve\" (The Song of the Nightingales) and \"Kënga e rapsodëve të Labërisë\" (The Song of the Rhapsodes of Labëria), which embody the essence of the musical and poetic heritage of this region.
The Lab Group of Tepelena continues to be a symbol of preserving the authenticity of Labë music, striving to keep this tradition alive for future generations.
