ST. MARY’S CHURCH OF KOSINË VILLAGE

The church is situated in the village Kosine, and is built in XII century. The building style is a cross with a drum-shaped cupola and narthex, consisting of a rectangular and cylindrical vault in a north-south direction. The narthex, where the central nave is accessed from the interior, consists of a central dome, four arms of the cross, and angular structures. The entrance gate is covered with an arched and cylindrical drum and is constructed with bricks, as well as the walls. The structural load features are very decorative and interesting: a series of interwoven motifs characterize this building, made with brick masonry that form symbols and letters (crosses, arches, dental molding, Frieza, herringbone), from architectural features and decorative treatment dating back to the XII-XIII century.
