BENCA AQUEDUCT

This Aqueduct of Bënça is situated above the Bënça river, 2 km in north of the village with the same name. The Aqueduct is a hydraulic structure, built in XIX century, served to send the fresh water to the Castle of Tepelenë. The monument is built by Ali Pashe Tepelenë, but it was demolished and damaged by an earthquake in the years 30 in XX century. It was rebuilt, but not in its authentic shape. Anyway it is still a touristic attraction for many people who are interested for the medieval structures, and especially for architecture works during Ali Pashe Tepelenë reign.
